Health Issues in Britain

The National Health Service was set up as a part of welfare in uk. It have treated more patients every year, but with limited resources it has had to deal with ill health caused by changes in lifestyle.

There are many reasons for inequalities in health in the UK. some parts of the country have poorer health, differences between the poorest and richest parts are greater. Those living in poverty have poorer life chances and poorer health because of lower living standards, including bad housing and bad diet. And women are more aware of health issues and more likely to consult doctors than men.

The most important diffirence between NHS in uk and the medical service in china is the free problem. We must pay a lot of money in hospital if we are ill in china, but the NHS in uk is free.

The weak poit of NHS is the lower inefficiency, patients will have to wait for may be some weeks, may be some months, some times may be more than a year for a operation. We hope it can improve under the attention of government.

Hello Riva

Thanks for writing about inequalities of healthcare in Britain. Are you able to give some examples of these inequalities. For example areas in Britain where this may be the case / examples of different services.

I found an interesting report called the ' State of Healthcare 2007'. It was put out by the Healthcare Commission. You might find some information there.
